Russ and Cyndi Kalenberg, Brainerd, will be part of a CBS reality television series beginning in March.
Eleven teams of two persons are part of the new season of CBS' "The Amazing Race 2." The show's new season starts March 11.
Reached at home, Cyndi Kalenberg was able to confirm she and husband, Russ, are part of the upcoming show segments but referred other questions to CBS. The Kalenbergs are the ministerial team at the Agape Christian Center, on Highway 371 North.
Lauri First, CBS publicist, said none of the teams are allowed to speak to the media until they are eliminated from the show.
The object is to put two people -- spouses, friends, frat buddies -- in a race around the world. According to CBS "each pair's relationship will be forever changed by their experience in this once-in-a-lifetime adventure."
The Amazing Race is a combination of travel challenges and mental and physical tasks at each destination. CBS reports restricted plane travel and strict budgets add to the tension as the teams are forced to rely on ingenuity to reach destinations. Teams bringing up the rear are eliminated during the show's run. One million dollars awaits the first team to make it to the final destination.
