Here in Brainerd housewives are beginning to feel the pinch of the sugar rationing program. "Do you take sugar in your coffee?" If you answer in the negative, your reply brings a smile of relief to the face of your waitress.

Judge McClenahan of Brainerd has been appointed by Gov. Preus to hear a libel case set in local District Court February 27. It has become necessary to import a judge due to prejudice filed against three District judges.
100 years ago (1902)
The local girls' and boys' basketball teams defeated the St. Cloud teams. The boys won 18 to 16 and the girls won 9 to 2. At the end of the first half the St. Cloud girls' team was head 2 to 0. The game between the gentlemen of the high school team and the gentlemen of the St. Cloud team was one of the best that has ever been played in this city.
