Compared to Thursday, not enough slaughter steers, heifers, Holstein steers and slaughter bulls on hand for a market test. Slaughter cows sold steady on very light receipts. Near 300 feeders expected for the auction.
Steers: No test.

Cows: Premium White 70-75 percent lean 41.50-43.25; Breaking 70-80 percent lean 40.00-41.50; Boning 80-85 percent lean 38.75-42.00 36.00-37.75; Lean 85-90 percent lean 38.00-41.00 43.50 35.25-37.00.
Bulls: No test.
For the week: Compared to late last week, producers still saw 70.00 prices for their fats through midweek, even after starting the week out steady to 2.00 lower. With the exception of a few sets on Wednesday & Thursday, there weren't many large, fancy sets of cattle that pushed the top like last week. Slaughter steers and heifers finished the week trading steady to weak. Holstein steers continued their upward momentum from last week as they started out the week steady to 1.00 higher, quickly falling 1.50-2.00 to close out the week. Packers had plenty to choose from as Holstein steers continued the week on increased receipts. The demand for lean cows was still evident this week as prices held steady for most of the week, however ended the week steady to 1.00 lower. Fleshier cows, on the other hand, lost ground midweek as prices fell 2.00-3.00 by Thusday. Slaughter bulls sold mostly steady all week as quality fluctuated on light receipts.
Barrows & Gilts: Compared to Thursday, .50 higher. 47-50 percent lean 220-260 lbs. 38.50-39.00; 47-50 percent lean 260-270 lbs. 37.50-38.50; 46-48 percent lean 270-280 lbs. 36.50-37.50.
U.S. 1-3 300-450 lbs. 27.50; 450-500 lbs. 28.00; 500-550 lbs. 29.00; over 550 lbs. 30.00.
Boars: under 300 lbs. 30.00 300-700 lbs. 14.00.
For the week: Compared to last Friday, barrows and gilts started the week on a slow decline, but rapidly picked up on Thursday at 1.50 higher. Barrows and Gilts finished the week 1.00 higher.
Compared to Thursday, all classes steady. Supply near 75 percent slaughter lambs, 20 percent feeder lambs, and 5 percent slaughter ewes.
Slaughter Lambs: Shorn: Choice, end Prime 2-3 110-140 lbs. with 1-2 pelts 65.00-67.00. Wooled: Choice, end Prime 2-3 110-140 lbs. 60.00-62.00.
Slaughter Ewes: Utility and Good 25.00-30.00. Cull 20.00-25.00.
Feeder Lambs: Medium and Large 1-2 60-80 lbs. 75.00-85.00; 80-100 lbs. 65.00-75.00.
For the week: For the week, slaughter ewes and feeder lambs sold steady. Slaughter lambs sold 4.00 higher on Tuesday, and continued throughout the rest of the week steady.
