Mandi Selisker recently joined the Lake Country Journal magazine staff as a graphic designer. A graduate of Central Lakes College, Selisker most recently has been employed by the Johnson Group Advertising Agency of St. Cloud.
She brings a background of design, computer production and photography skills to the magazine. Along with assisting in the design, photography, and production of Lake Country Journal, she also helps to develop marketing tools (brochures, newsletters, annual reports, advertising campaigns, etc.) for other business clients through the parent company, Evergreen Press. Selisker recently won an Addy award for a series of postcards she produced for the University of Minnesota, Morris.
Crow Wing Food Co-op hires manager
Barbara "B.J." Allen, Pine River, is the general manager at the Crow Wing Food Co-op on Washington Street.
Allen replaces long-time general manager Don Gorham, who left after 13 years to pursue other interests. Gorham will join the board of directors. Allen has retail experience in herbals and other natural health care products. She has done graduate course work in public health through the University of Minnesota. A University of San Diego graduate, Allen has an electrical engineering degree. She worked with the Women's Center, the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance and other area organizations.
Mara Nell, a Central Lakes College student, joined the staff as assistant manager.
Meyer joins The Pines golf staff
Joni Meyer, Ladies Professional Golf Association teaching professional, joined The Pines golf staff at Grand View Lodge in Nisswa.
She will be providing golf instruction at The Pines teaching facility. She also will be responsible for the instruction programs for both the public and resort guests. She will coordinate area golf outings for women and co-ed outings for area residents during the summer.
For the past three summers, Meyer was the LPGA teaching professional at Breezy Point Resort.
Roehl joins New Concepts Salon
Kathy Roehl joined New Concepts Salon, Brainerd.
Roehl formerly worked at Image 2000 in the East Brainerd Mall. She has 10 years of experience in highlighting, permanents and hair cuts.
Blanck joins Kuepers Construction
BAXTER -- Danae Blanck, interior designer, joined the design team at Kuepers Construction Inc., Baxter.
Blanck, a Nisswa native, received her bachelor's degree in interior design and mass communications/public relations from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
She has six years of residential/commercial interior design and sales experience.
Smude elected farm association vice president
LITTLE FALLS -- Jerry Smude, Evergreen Equipment Inc., Little Falls, was elected vice president of the Farm Equipment Association of Minnesota and South Dakota. The election was held during the business session at the association's annual convention in Sioux Falls, S.D., in January.
Smude was originally elected to the board in 1995. The association was formed in 1905.
Kronstedt starts home inspection service
Bill Kronstedt started a home inspection service in the lakes area called Krondo Inspection Services.
He will be providing complete inspection of a home, to include the outside, to the basement, all the way through to the attic and the roof. Services are offered to buyers and sellers and he also does a three-phase new construction inspection.
Kronstedt received his certification from Prosource Educational Services of St. Paul, and is a registered home inspector through the Housing Inspection Foundation, American Society of Home Inspectors. He also has five years of plumbing experience and a general building construction background.
