BAXTER -- Joseph J. Kuleta, age 81, resident of Baxter, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village. Joe was born on Oct. 22, 1923, in Chicago to Stanley and Eva (Wegrzyn) Kuleta. He was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the European theater. He married Janice Peckham on July 24, 1948, in Babylon Long Island, N.Y.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; children, Mark (Betsy), of Bemidji, Minn., and Judith (John) Daly, of Snohomish, Wash.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Chester Kuleta, Illinois.
His parents and a brother died earlier.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter with Pastor Darrell Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Camp Ripley with military honors provided by American Legion Post No. 255 Color Guard. Visitation will be held the hour before services at the church.
