Adella S. Wagnild, 93, Brainerd, passed away Feb. 11, 2005, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Adella was born on Jan. 20, 1912, in Mondovi, Wis., to Andrew O. and Christine (Peterson) Johnson.
She graduated from the Mondovi High School in 1930 and continued her education at the State Teachers College in River Falls, Wis., where she graduated in 1933. She then taught elementary school in Wisconsin, moving to Brainerd after she married Orris J. Wagnild on March 26, 1941. She was employed for many years at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd.

Survived by her children, Orris Wagnild (Melo Nix), of Metairie, La., Mary (Tom) Buggert, of St. George, Utah, David (Wendy) Wagnild, of Brainerd, Karen (Bill) Timmons, of Brainerd, and Alan (Kathy) Wagnild, of Brainerd; a son-in-law, Nader Darehshori, of Wellesley, Mass.; her brother, A. Miller Johnson, of Mondovi, Wis.; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Johnson, Inez Jenson and Gladys Market, all of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orris; her daughter, Anne Darehshori; eight brothers; and one sister.
Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel with Pastor David Holte officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the Bethany Chapel on Thursday.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Bethany Good Samaritan Village.
