Pierz girls trounce Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa

BROOTEN -- The Pierz Pioneers had three players score in double figures and posted a 65-31 victory over the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars in Central Minnesota Conference girls' basketball Thursday.

Shiela Stegora paced the Pioneers with 23 points, Becky Korf added 20 and Emily Stumpf 13 as Pierz improved to 14-8 overall.

"We bounced back from a tough loss Monday night to Pequot Lakes," said Pierz coach Rick Sczublewski. "Shiela got us going early with eight first-quarter points and Becky Korf had an outstanding all-around game for us as well."

Freshman Teresa Parker had 22 points. Felicia Foster and Julie Redebaugh each had 19 points.
