WALKER -- One of three young men accused of shooting at motorists on Highway 371 just north of Pine River Nov. 20 was recently sentenced in Cass County Court.
Sean Thomas Riley, 19, Pine River, was sentenced for second-degree assault to 180 days jail and 185 days on electronic home monitoring. He was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and $632.50 restitution and placed on seven years supervised probation.
Dane Joseph Riley, 17, Pine River, who is a co-defendant in the case, is scheduled for a Feb. 25 omnibus hearing. He faces one felony count of felon in possession of a firearm and two second-degree assault counts. Though a juvenile, his case was referred to adult court.
A second juvenile was accused of being involved in the incident.
A delivery truck and a sedan being driven by a woman on Highway 371 were struck by .22-caliber bullets. According to the complaints filed against the Rileys, a .22-caliber rifle was recovered from the vehicle they occupied when officers stopped them near Highway 371 shortly after the incident.
The complaint accuses the youths of taking turns shooting at passing vehicles.

Jesse James Johnson, 20, Fosston, formerly of Laporte, was ordered to serve an additional six months work release for violating probation he is serving for aggravated robbery.
Rhonda Louise Palmer, 20, Walker, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor DWI to 90 days work release, was ordered to pay $1,000 fine or do equivalent sentence to serve work, pay $480 probation fee and placed on four years supervised probation.
Scott Robert Mikkelson, 33, Nevis, was ordered to serve, consecutive to a Hubbard County sentence, an additional 30 days jail for violating probation he is serving for lesser-included and amended gross misdemeanor theft counts.
Frank Eugene Holmes, 35, Brainerd, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation and a lesser-included misdemeanor giving false information to a peace officer to 90 days jail, to pay $1,500 fine and $240 probation fee and placed on two years supervised probation.
Joshua Dee Meyers, 20, Pine River, was ordered to serve an additional 15 days jail for violating probation he is serving for an amended felony theft count.
Jeanie L. Orth, 35, Backus, received a stay of adjudication of sentence for felony theft and was placed on five years probation. Restitution will be set within 60 days.
Richard Thomas Knutson, also known as Richard Miller, 44, Backus, received execution of the balance of a year and a day prison sentence for violating probation he is serving for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime (possession).
Gary Joseph Matros, 50, Pine River, received execution of one year jail after being found in violation of probation he is serving for an amended gross misdemeanor DWI.
