Brainerd High School will host the Special Olympics Minnesota Area 5 basketball competition March 11.
Opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. with competition running until approximately 2 p.m. Fans are urged to watch more than 160 athletes dribble their way to victory.
Special Olympics is looking for 30-35 volunteers to help as escorts, referees, scorekeepers and timers, help with registration, hand out awards and help with the skills competition. Volunteers will be trained the day of the competition and will receive a free T-shirt.
