NISSWA - James Louis Urban, age 72, of Nisswa, died on Feb. 6, 2009, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. Jim lived courageously the past 10 years with many challenging medical problems, now he is in God's house at peace and free of pain.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1936, in Wahoo, Neb., to Lumir and Leona (Westness) Urban. He married Martha Justine Shoemaker on July 31, 1965, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Jim was a retired carpet sales representative. After retiring he and his wife moved to Nisswa from Wayzata. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Nisswa, the Nisswa Lions Club and the Clark Lake Association.
He is survived by his wife, Martha "Marty"; two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Hendrix, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Pamela (Kevin) Van Meter, of Ham Lake; his mother, Leona Urban, of Red Oak, Iowa; six grandchildren, Scott, Steven and Amy Van Meter, Kristen (Jason) Mueller, Kayla and Craig Hendrix; one sister, Ginger Urban, of Red Oak, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his father; one son, Rick Urban; and one sister, Joan Urban.
Jim enjoyed almost everything in life, especially his loving family, caring friends and his Clark Lake home in Nisswa, Minn. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
