The Brainerd campus library of Central Lakes College re-opened with limited service a day after the facility was damaged Monday by burst water pipes.
The library is filled with dehumidifiers and fans while about 500 books dry in stacks on tables. Computers that were removed Monday will be returned once workers repair overhead infrastructure.
Students are using the library for study space and can check out and check in books.
"Disasters happen," said Larry Kellerman, librarian. "But it's the quality of the recovery which is important.
"Because of the quality and quantity of efficiency shown Monday, our losses were minimal. While nearly 500 books received some water damage, many will be refurbished. We lost no computers or other electronic equipment."
