Top-ranked Braham flexes its muscle

PIERZ -- The Braham Bombers showed why they are the top ranked boys' basketball team in Class 2A as it shot 34 of 48 from the field and were led by Isaiah Dahlman's 32 points and Noah Dahlman's 21 in an 84-51 win over the Pierz Pioneers Saturday.

Bryan Virnig was the lone Pioneer to score in double digits, finishing with 18 points.

BEMIDJI -- Staples-Motley's Chris Jansson rained down five 3-pointers and scored 25 points as Dustin Greenwaldt added 11 points and Josh Anderson 10 in a 69-64 loss to the Bemidji Lumberjacks Saturday in non-conference play.

PEQUOT LAKES -- Jesse Fischer scored a game-high 28 points and Tucker Sheley added 15 as the Pequot Lakes Patriots sneaked past the Verndale Pirates 71-70 in overtime Saturday.

Andy Bramer led the Pirates with 20 points, including five 3-pointers, and teammate Isaac Johnson dropped in 19.
