MERRIFIELD -- Ruth Schaeffer Jackson, 82, Merrifield, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, Minn.
She was born Aug. 10, 1921, in McLouth, Kan., to Irene Mae (Steeper) and Israel Franklin Schaeffer. She received a bachelor of arts degree in music from the University of Kansas in 1942. She married Edwin Rollins Warner in 1943 and was widowed on Christmas Eve of 1944 when his ship, the Leopoldville, went down in the English Channel. She married Ralph Andrew Jackson in 1949. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother living in Kansas, Illinois and Minnesota. She moved to the Brainerd area in 1972 to help her husband, Ralph, run Pelican Store at the south end of Pelican Lake. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She helped her husband in his duties with the Pelican Lake Property Owners Association and Crow Wing Environment Protection Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn (Richard) Fredericks, Coon Rapids, and Anne (Derek) Appleyard, Apple Valley; a son, Thomas (Paula) Jackson, Nisswa; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Two husbands, Edwin Rollins Warner and Ralph Andrew Jackson, and an infant son, Timothy Jackson, died earlier.
Private services will be conducted. Memorials are preferred to the Pelican Lakes Property Owners Association and the Salvation Army.
Arrangements are with the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
