AITKIN -- Earl S. Peterson, age 75, of Crosby died on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born on Nov. 18, 1928, in Deerwood Twp. to Carl and Edna (Splettstoeszer) Peterson. He served in the National Guard and the U.S. Army in Korea in the 194th Battalion. He was a past member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legional Post 557 of Deerwood.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; 2 sons, Mark Peterson and David Peterson, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Vera Hawks of Crystal Falls, Mich.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Donald Jacobson, Crosby, Darold (Marilyn) Winn, Ironton; sisters-in-law, Avis (Orville) Nelson, Ironton, and Judy Alcox, Brainerd; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Olive Jacobson and Erna Nyberg, brothers-in-law, Herbert Nyberg and Orval Hawks. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery with full military rites.
