C-I girls defeat Wadena-Deer Creek

CROSBY -- Whitney Smetana scored 19 points and Kim Rosecrans added 15 to lead the Crosby-Ironton Rangers to a 52-29 victory over the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines Thursday in Mid-State Conference girls' basketball.

The Wolverines' Avery Buresh contributed 10 points.

PIERZ -- Nicole Meyer, Kari Block and Allyson Kloss all scored in double digits to lead the Pierz Pioneers to a 65-40 victory over the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars in Central Minnesota Conference girls' basketball Thursday.

Meyer finished with 16 points, Block had 12 points and seven rebounds and Kloss added 10 points for the Pioneers. Juniors Becky Korf and Emily Stumpf also contributed to the Pioneers' victory. Korf scored nine points, added nine rebounds and six assists while Stumpf had five points, five assists and three steals.
