Ebert crowned Miss Nisswa at annual pageant

NISSWA -- Lisa Ebert was crowned Miss Nisswa 2001 on Friday night at the Miss Nisswa Scholarship Pageant at Lutheran Church of the Cross.

Ebert won a $1,200 scholarship.

Candace Hemmerich was named first princess, winning a $700 scholarship; Rena Anderson was named second princess, winning a $500 scholarship; and Amanda Burggraff received $100 for being named Miss Congeniality.

Second-grader Katherine Nistler is Little Miss Nisswa for 2001.

Eleven seniors competed in the scholarship pageant. Other contestants were Katie Lykins, Kelly Diiro, Samantha French, Shannon Demgen, Nicole Northburg, Hannah R. Wange and Cassidy Dobson.

They were judged on their essay, interview, casual wear, formal wear and impromptu question.

The pageant was sponsored by the Nisswa Area Women of Today.
