Charles J. Fish, age 89, born and raised in Fargo, N.D., longtime resident of Golden Valley and Lake Shore, Minn., passed away peacefully Feb. 7, 2009.
Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Irene (Inglis) Fish; brother, Williams Inglis Fish; and wife, Audrey M. Fish.
Survived by children, Ellen (Bill) Kolb, Chuck (Patricia) Fish and Tom Fish; four grandchildren, Kathryn (Mario) Mazzeo, Michael (Pear) Fish, Sarah (Jason) Bordewyk and Laura (Jason) Fischer; two great-grandsons, Marius Mazzeo and Caleb Bordewyk; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Upon graduating from North Dakota State University in 1941, as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, he served in WWII and received four battle stars, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples and Rome Arno (Monte Cassino) where half of the battalion personnel were killed. Longtime Pillsbury employee and retired lieutenant colonel Army Reserve. Services were held at Holcomb-Henry-Boom Funeral Home, Shoreview. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
