Parents in the Brainerd School District now have somewhere to go to air their school busing woes.
Brainerd Superintendent Jerry Walseth told school board members Monday that the district has created a new transportation committee designed to make sure parents' busing concerns are heard.
Months ago, several parents brought their own busing concerns to the school board, and the newly formed committee is a direct result of that meeting, Walseth said.
Walseth said the committee meetings will be informal and headed by Kala Henkensiefken, the district's transportation coordinator. Several parents also agreed to serve on the committee.
The first transportation committee meeting will be at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in Room No. 109 at Washington Educational Services Building, 804 Oak Street, Brainerd.
