MOTLEY -- Fred Marolf, 86, Motley, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.
He was born Aug. 25, 1915, in Dennison, Iowa, to Fred and Anna Marie Marolf. He attended school in Iowa. In 1936, he moved with his father to the Motley area where he farmed and worked around the area. He married Ann Zimmerle on Aug. 3, 1947. He took classes at Staples Technical College. He operated a fishing camp in Kenora, Ontario, Canada, for several years.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Marolf, Staples, and Fred Marolf Jr., Fairfield, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
His wife; a sister, Hattie; and an infant brother died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples with the Rev. Bill Schardin officiating. Burial will be in Motley Public Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
