Posted: Thursday, February 12, 2004

WALKER -- "Volunteer Dentistry in the Northwoods," the story of O.F. Ringle, a retired dentist from Walker who has spent 18 years as a volunteer dentist in the surrounding seven-county area, has been released by Steingarten Press.

Ringle, who has completed his 50th year in the dental profession, retired from his dental practice in 1985 to take a position with Rotary International on the Amazon River. He declined when asked to return the following year, deciding instead to return home to help people in the Leech Lake area.

"Volunteer Dentistry in the Northwoods" introduces readers to Ringle's patients and their struggles to find affordable, professional dental care in northern Minnesota.
