MERRIFIELD -- Robert "Bob" L. Greenslit, age 76, of Merrifield, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born on Oct. 23, 1927, in Graceville, Minn., to Irvin and Inez (Black) Greenslit. Robert graduated from Morton High School, Hamline University and the University of Minnesota. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Suzanne Polasek. He started his teaching career in St. Francis, then moving to Renville where he was a sucessful high school basketball coach. He then became an educational administrator at Morgan, Minn., and later Lakeville, Minn. He retired from Lakeville in 1985 and moved to Merrifield. His interests included traveling, sports and cards.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne; children, Richard (Lynn) Greenslit of Farmington, Minn., Jane (Steven) Reiter of Coon Rapids, Minn., Ann (Todd) Stokke of Winona, Minn.; four grandchildren, Matt and Scott Greenslit and Drew and Stephanie Reiter.
His parents and grandchild Spencer Stokke died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with Pastor Tom Chesley officiating. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by Crosslake American Legion. Visitation will be the hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
