Margaret C. Hanson

AITKIN -- Margaret C. Hanson, 84, Aitkin, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin.

She was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Minneapolis to Louis and Nora (Faye) McGrath. She graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1935. She married Herman Hanson in April 1937 in Minneapolis. They lived in the Minneapolis area most of their lives. She worked for the Itofca Trucking Co., in Minneapolis. She moved to the Aitkin area in December 2001 and lived at Blackrock Terrace.

Survivors include two sons, Duffy Hanson, Aitkin, and James Hanson, Blaine; a daughter, Lou Burlager, Spring Lake Park; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Almeda Benson, Kalispell, Mont., and Carol Jean Hilling, Boardman, Ore.

Her husband; a daughter, Karen Dallman; three brothers; and two sisters, died earlier.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Blaine with Father George Kolath officiating. A memorial service at the Riverwood Extended Care Center in Aitkin will be at a later date.

Friends may call an hour before services Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
