Starting Monday, the Brainerd School District will be videotaping its school board meetings to be broadcast on local cable access channels.
Brainerd Superintendent Jerry Walseth said that Monday night's school board meeting will be videotaped and rebroadcast several times later in the week through the Lakes Media Collaborative. Dates and times of those broadcasts have not yet been determined.
While Monday's board meeting will be rebroadcast on a trial basis, school board members need to vote on whether to authorize the district to pay the costs associated with continuing to broadcast board meetings.
Walseth said the district will be providing those costs to the board soon for its approval. A few board members at Friday's school board long range planning committee reacted positively toward the broadcasts.
