Operation Round Up donations distributed

The Crow Wing Power Community Trust Board donated nearly $46,000 to community programs during their first-quarter meeting in January.

Operation Round Up funds were distributed to the following projects: $1,500 to Morrison County Food Shelf, Little Falls; $1,500 to Pierz Area Food Shelf; $1,500 to Crosslake Food Shelf; $1,500 to Pine River Area Food Shelf; $1,500 to The Salvation Army Food Shelf, Brainerd; $1,500 to Emily Emergency Food Shelf; $1,500 to Pillager Food Shelf; $1,500 to Lakes Area Food Shelf, Nisswa.

$1,000 to Rising Stars Therapeutic Equitation, Little Falls; $2,000 to Oasis Share A Meal, Little Falls; $2,000 to Camp Knutson, Crosslake; $800 to Blue Star Mothers of America, Brainerd; $1,000 to Pequot Lakes Community Library; $1,500 to Longville Area Food Shelf; $500 to Hackensack Senior Center; $1,000 to Community Education, Pequot Lakes; $2,500 to Horizon Health, Pierz; $1,000 to Deerwood First Responders; $1,000 to Deerwood Fire Dept.

$2,500 to Pierz First Response Team; $2,000 to Scandia Valley Fire Dept., Cushing; $500 to Teen Moms of Morrison County, Little Falls; $3,000 to Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen, Brainerd; $2,500 to Education, Ag & Technology, Brainerd; $500 to Great River Arts Association, Little Falls; $500 to Let's Go Fishing, Little Falls; $500 to Eagleview Elementary, Pequot Lakes; $1,000 to Pine River/Backus High School; $1,000 to Pre-School Program, Hackensack; $2,000 to Early Childhood Education, Brainerd; $2,000 to Sertoma, Brainerd; $300 to Cass County Meth Coalition, Longville; $318 to Pine River/Backus Family Center; and $1,000 to Private Cooperative Member Crisis Medical Support.

Operation Round Up is funded by participating members of Crow Wing Power who allow the cooperative to round up their electric bills to the nearest whole dollar. The additional change is pooled and distributed quarterly. Since the program's inception in late 1996, Round Up has donated more than $1,220,000 to community projects and programs in Cass, Crow Wing and Morrison counties.
