Nellie A. Bartasky

DEERWOOD - Nellie A. Bartasky, 84, of Deerwood, died on Feb. 8, 2008, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on June 24, 1923, in Lines Spring, Iowa, to William and Selma (Justman) Riley. She married Donald J. Bartasky on July 18, 1946. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood and the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post No. 557, Deerwood.

She is survived by son, Michael Bartasky, Deerwood; two daughters, Pattie (Bob) Johnson, St. Michael, and Pamela (Rodney) Cox, Mesquite, Teas; a brother, Lawrence "Buzz" Riley, Deerwood; two sisters, Georgia Thole, Deerwood, and Jane Waschitz, Elk River; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 1987; and granddaughter, Brooke Johnson.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Bay Lake Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
