MOORHEAD - Garth Askegaard posted his best game statistically leading the Brainerd Warriors to a 60-41 victory over the Moorhead Spuds Saturday.
Askegaard registered 13 points, 13 rebounds and five steals helping Brainerd improve to 7-10 overall.
"We came out of the gates playing Warrior basketball," said Brainerd head coach Wade Haapajoki. "We rotated defenses on them and that created some turnovers. We were up early and didn't let up.

"I was proud of the way we handed their run in the second half. Moorhead is a good team in our section."
Brainerd forced Moorhead into 24 turnovers and held them to 31 percent shooting from the field.
Kyle Crocker added nine points, Chris Rud scored 10 and Aaron Pavek contributed nine for Brainerd, which shot 50 percent (20-of-40) from the field and outrebounded Moorhead 37-24.
