The following students were named to the fall dean's list at Gustavus Adolphus College: Laura Baden, Baxter; Elizabeth Hauer, Little Falls; Ryan Gall, Pierz; and Kelly Nelson, Walker.

St. John's Prep School announced sophomore Bianca Spalj, daughter of Jane and J.R. Spalj, has achieved the Headmaster's Honor Roll for fall semester.

Shelby Nokken, daughter of Sherry and Brent Kramer, is Pillager High School's 2010 Triple A Award Winner. The Triple A Award is sponsored by the MN State High School League and recognizes high school seniors that have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in fine arts.

The University of Wisconsin-Superior has named Melissa Hanson, Brainerd, and Chelsea Einerwold, Staples, to its dean's list.

Hannah Fossum, Brainerd, was named to the dean's list at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

Todd Treichler, son of John and Ann Treichler, Brainerd, was named to the president's list for the fall semester at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

Catherine Lepel, daughter of Mike and Sharon Lepel, Merrifield, was recently named to the dean's list at the University of Dallas.

Christopher J. Dehen, son of Dr. and Mrs. James Dehen Jr., Brainerd, recently received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. His dissertation, "Discrete Retardance - Nonlinear Optical Ellipsometry and Polarization Analysis of Macroscopic Assemblies" involved the study of the surface chemistry and the structure of bulk crystalline materials using high-intensity lasers and nonlinear optical processes. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 2000 and received his bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of North Dakota in 2004. He is now employed as a research chemist at MED Institute in West Lafayette, Ind. MED Institute is the main research and development division for the Cook Group companies headquartered in Bloomington, Ind.
