ST. CLOUD - Tate Rusk scored Brainerd's lone goal as the Warriors dropped a Central Lakes Conference contest to the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles 3-1 in boys' hockey Thursday.
Brett Jenkins and Joe Kaufmann assisted on Rusk's goal.
Brainerd maintained a 1-0 lead and a 31-8 shots on goal advantage entering the third period. But the Eagles capitalized on three of the eight shots they fired on goal in the period.
Tom Brown and Steve Theis each had a goal and assist for the Eagles. Theis' goal was an empty netter with four seconds remaining.
Brainerd finished with a 48-16 edge in shots.
Goalie Reid Mimmack made 13 saves for the Warriors, who slipped to 11-2 in the conference.
