The Central Lakes Raiders women's basketball team held a 28-25 halftime lead and a 43-27 advantage with 12 minutes to play in Thursday's North Division contest with the Mesabi Range Lady Norse.
But Mesabi went on a 19-2 run in less than five minutes to claim a 46-45 lead and held on to defeat CLC 63-58
The Norse (9-17) hit 5-of-5 from 3-point in that stretch. Tara Skadsem scored all 12 of her points from behind the arc as did Rachel Peushek, who finished with six points.
Laura Johnson led Mesabi with 16 points and Shelby Slygh scored 12.
The Raiders (7-16) were led by the 24 points and 17 rebounds of Becky Skiba

The key: Mesabi used a 19-2 second half run to upset the Raiders.

"We made it really difficult on ourselves tonight," said Raiders head coach Dennis Eastman. "I told them to prepare yourselves because you can't take anyone lightly. If you do things like this happen."
The Raiders shot 43 percent from the field, but were just 1-of-13 on 3-point attempts.
Jayme Reed scored eight points and Cayla Collison and Brittany Miller both scored seven points for CLC.
