HILLMAN - Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillman will host a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday. A Valentine basket boutique will also be held with a variety of items. The church is located at the junction of Highway 27 and County Road 47.
Grace United Methodist to sell frozen pasties
PEQUOT LAKES - Grace United Methodist Church of Pequot Lakes will not have fresh-from-the-oven pasties on the usual third Thursday of the month in February, but frozen pasties will be available from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday until they are sold out or the next production date on March 20.
St. Joseph's Guild to meet
St. Joseph's Guild will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Northwind Grill. Kay Clough and Barb Schwagerl will be hostesses.
Soup and grilled cheese lunch planned
PINE RIVER - A soup and grilled cheese lunch will follow the 11 a.m. service at Maple Hill Lutheran Church, rural Pine River, Sunday. There will be a freewill offering with proceeds going toward the installation of a three stop vertical lift at Maple Hill. This invitation is extended to all Maple Hill and Swan Valley parishioners and their families, friends and neighbors. Serving will begin about 1 p.m. This will also be a time to visit with Mel Nefstead and wish him well before his medical mission trip to the Honduras.
Connection to host luncheon
The Brainerd Lakes Area Women Connection will host a luncheon from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday at the Red Roof Inn in Brainerd. Karla Kolle will share a message entitled "Life's Journey." She will describe how your path can be smooth despite the bumps and road blocks along the way. Music is provided by Fred and Judy Blocker. Cost is $12.50. RSVP to Dolly at 829-2234 by Wednesday.
Friday fish fry planned
GARRISON - Light of the Cross will host a Friday fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 15 and March 7 featuring all-you-can-eat deep fried fish. The proceeds will help support the mission work of the LOC youth, including the local food shelf and the youth group's summer service trips. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for kids 12 and under.
Light of the Cross is located two blocks west of the Super Valu in Garrison.
Ministerial Association to meet
The Brainerd Lakes Area Ministerial Association will meet at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Brainerd Seventh-day Adventist Church. A light lunch will be served. The program will focus on the relationship between the area churches and the law enforcement community. Hear about the various ministries that are presently happening in the Crow Wing County Jail, the volunteer chaplaincy program with the Brainerd Police Department, the Restorative Justice program and our involvement with the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department. All area clergy are encouraged to attend.
Lenten services planned
Lenten services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Pastor Hans Anderson will speak on "Enduring Love." A soup supper will be served at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The 2008 Lenten services will focus on the concept of love. Sermons will explore several aspects of love - healing love, enduring love, tough love, unconditional love, erotic love and sacrificial love. Trinity is located at 1420 South 6th Street.
St. Paul's Episcopal to hold adult forum
Psychiatrist Beth Delesante will speak on St. Paul's series on "Faith and Mental Health" in the adult forum presentation about the organic connection between the brain and the mind at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 408 N. 7th St. Brainerd.
Lenten services at Bethlehem Lutheran
"Beneath the Cross of Jesus...in Bondage to Sin and Death" will be our theme for Wednesday night.

Worship begins at 5:45 p.m. followed by a soup and sandwich supper. An education hour for all ages will begin at 7 p.m. Currently on display at Bethlehem is a series of photos entitled "Messengers" by John Erickson.
