David Knudson, a veteran real estate associate broker, recently joined the Edina Realty Baxter office.
Knudson is a past president of the Greater Lakes Association of Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year in 2000.
Knudson holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota and serves as chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Bay Lake Township.
Edina Realty rated No. 1 statewide
Edina Realty has been No. 1 in real estate sales in Minnesota for the past seven years, said Jim Eisler, manager of the Edina Realty offices in Brainerd/Baxter and Crosslake.
Eisler said Edina Realty Home Service recently presented this information to more than 1,000 Edina agents attending the annual Edina Realty Expo meeting at the RiverCentre in St. Paul.
Edina Realty in the Brainerd lakes market also ranked No. 1 in 2006 and 2007. The ranking is for all categories of real estate, including residential, commercial and land sales in the Brainerd lakes area.

Real estate courses offered at college
A series of three pre-licensure real estate courses will be held in the Business and Industry Center at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
The first class meets Feb. 19, with Bob Welch instructing. The series is designed for obtaining the Minnesota real estate license.
Real Estate I covers listings, contracts, agencies, purchase agreements and financing and will be from 6-10 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 10 (except March 4).

Pillager builder earns sales award
Dave Puetz of Advanced Building Systems in Pillager recently was recognized as one of two Enercept Gold Circle Sales award winners for his outstanding sales performance in 2007.
Advanced Building Systems was presented with a trophy at a recent 2008 Enercept Annual Builder/Dealer Conference in Watertown, S.D. Enercept, a manufacturer of structural insulated panels, presents trophies to the top six builders and dealers based on annual revenue volume.
Puetz specializes in energy efficient construction utilizing Enercept structural insulated panels for roof, wall and basement applications.
In October, Puetz and builders Steve Eide, Brainerd, and Dale and Tracy Peterson, Little Falls, completed a two-day training session in Watertown, earning certification in the installation of Enercept SIP panels.
Rental seminar scheduled Feb. 23
A Crime Free Multi-Housing management training seminar will be held for rental property owners and managers Feb. 23 at the Brainerd Police Department.
The training is sponsored by the Brainerd and Baxter police departments and the Brainerd Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
Lisa Marvin of Essence Property Management will cover topics such as leases, fair housing practices and evictions. Other presenters include Joe Cordie of the St. Cloud Crime Prevention Unit; Ray Charpentier, Brainerd attorney; Bill Kronsted, Brainerd rental housing inspector; Bob Bauman, Baxter building inspector; and officers from the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division.
The Crime Free Multi-Housing program is designed to make multi-family dwellings and single-family rental homes safe, desirable places to live. The CFMH program provides a partnership between police, local property owners/managers and residents to foster a safe, healthy crime-free community in rental housing. CFMH is pro-property, pro-resident and anti-crime manager.
Property owners, managers, assistant managers, leasing agents, office staff, maintenance staff and anyone who works with housing are encouraged to attend.
Cost of the course is $25, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Participants also will receive a training manual and other free materials provided by the speakers.
