Katrina Johnston of Pequot Lakes and Nicole Stafferahn of Crosby were recently elected to serve on Target Market's statewide board to represent Crow Wing County.
Target Market is a youth led anti-tobacco movement that has more than 30,000 members across the state. As board members, they will make decisions on the direction of the Target Market campaign; represent their region at statewide meetings and vote on government issues; and assume leadership roles in communicating with Target Market members.
County fair panel meets Tuesday
The monthly meeting of the Crow Wing County Fair Association will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Crow Wing County engineering office at 102 Laurel St. in Brainerd.
Area bloodmobiles scheduled
To help boost blood supplies for those in need, the Red Cross has scheduled the following bloodmobiles in the Brainerd lakes area: 2 to 8 p.m. Feb. 25 and 1 to 7 p.m. Feb. 26-28, Brainerd National Guard Armory; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 1, Pequot Lakes School library.

Planning commission to meet
A special meeting of the Brainerd Planning Commission will be 5 p.m. Monday at city hall to discuss land acquisition near the Brainerd Regional Human Services Center, a bed and breakfast ordinance and comprehensive plan selection group.
The regular meeting of the Brainerd Planning Commission will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at city hall.
Dance team sectionals are Feb. 16
Dance Team Sectionals are scheduled Feb. 16 at St. Cloud Tech High School. There are nine different sectionals being conducted around the state, three in each class division.
The competition begins at 12:20 p.m.
The competition order is:
High kick/precision -- Blaine, Elk River, Bemidji, Coon Rapids, St. Cloud Apollo, Champlin Park, St. Cloud Tech, Moorhead, Duluth East, Forest Lake, Anoka and Brainerd.
Jazz funk -- Coon Rapids, Anoka, Champlin Park, Elk River, Blaine, Brainerd, Bemidji, Moorhead and Duluth East.
There will be a fan bus for students and parents that will leave the south doors of Brainerd High School at 10:30 a.m. Advance tickets must be purchased. For more information call 829-7107. Bus tickets are $4.
The top four teams in each division will advance to the state qualifying competition. Jazz state will be Feb. 22 and kick will be Feb. 23. Both events will be at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Warrior dance team
show set for Monday
The Brainerd Warriors dance teams will conduct the annual winter show at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Brainerd High School gym.
This is a fund-raising event to support the BHS dance teams. The audience will see the competition routines the dance team will use in the sectional meet Feb. 16 at St. Cloud Tech.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Admission for children 5 and under is free.
The show will feature the Warrior High Kick Team, the Warrior Jazz Team and the Warrior JV Team. There will be two numbers featuring the high school dancers and their fathers, "Who Let The Dads Out" and "Zoot Suit Riot."
Also included in the show will be numerous groups from Music General and Just For Kix Studios.
