Domino's founder wants to build 25-story crucifix

ANN ARBOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Domino's Pizza founder Tom Monaghan wants to build a massive free-standing crucifix at his Domino's Farms office park. At 25 stories, it would be only 51 feet shorter than the torch's tip on the Statue of Liberty.
The crucifix is part of a package of zoning changes the township planning commission is considering for a Roman Catholic university Monaghan wants to re-establish at the site. Currently, the school exists as Ave Maria College, which has 135 students and is located in Ypsilanti.
