The Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District Personnel Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Ag Service Center, 7118 Clearwater Road in Baxter.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss staffing issues.
Olson named to national council dealing with health issues
Sen. Mary Olson, DFL-Bemidji, was named to the National Council on State Legislature's Health Committee.
The committee has jurisdiction over state and federal health programs, legislation, regulations and policies. She was appointed to the post by Senate Majority Leader Larry Pogemiller.
Area children invited to bubble party to celebrate 'I Love to Read' month
Brainerd Lakes Area-Pillager Early Childhood Center will be hosting a bubble party from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Pillager Elementary School Gym to celebrate "I Love to Read" month.
Children ages 0-5 are invited to dress up as their favorite storybook character, wiggle, giggle and dance to energetic music. Books and snacks will be provided. The event is free of charge. For more information, call 746-2185.

Spring YMCA swim lessons
The Brainerd Family YMCA swim lesson schedule will be available at the YMCA and on the Web at brainerdlakesymca.org, Monday. The session begins the week of Feb. 23 and meets once a week for six weeks. These pre-school and school-age lessons are taught by trained instructors.
YMCA members can begin registering for pre-school classes Feb. 16 and for school age classes Feb. 17. Community members can begin on Feb. 19.

Crime Free Multi-Housing Program meeting
The Crime Free Multi-Housing program will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Brainerd Police Department.
The topic is residential leases. If you purchase your leases from an office supply store, it may not cover enough to protect your rental business. You will receive helpful materials and free copies of the Crime Free Lease Addendum.
Brainerd Police and Fire Civil Service Commission will meet Friday
The Brainerd Police and Fire Civil Service Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Friday in the Brainerd City Hall conference room. Among items to be considered at the meeting is the election of officers and updating the current police officer eligibility list.
Town Hall meetings set
Lawmakers will visit Brainerd and Little Falls on Feb. 20 to hear opinions on the governor's budget recommendations and hear the public's ideas to address the $4.8 billion budget deficit.
The town hall meetings will be at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Morrison County Government Center, garden level meeting room, 213 First Ave. SE in Little Falls and at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 20 at Washington Educational Services Building, board room, 804 Oak St., in Brainerd.
