WALKER - Cass County Administrator Robert Yochum announced Tuesday the confirmed summer county board meeting schedule for locations away from the courthouse at Walker.
All these meetings in townships will begin at 6 p.m.
May 15 at Pine River Township maintenance building.
June 19 at Sylvan Town Hall, rural Pillager.
July 17 at Hiram Town Hall, rural Hackensack.
Aug. 21 at Wabedo Town Hall, rural Longville.
Sept. 18 at Pike Bay Town Hall, rural Cass Lake.
The first Tuesday of every month in 2007 the board will meet at 9 a.m. in the courthouse public meeting room in Walker. The second Tuesday of February, March, April, October, November and December the board will meet at 9 a.m. in the public meeting room in the new land department building in Backus on Highway 87 West.
Cass County and Cass County Association of Townships will co-sponsor a local government issues meeting for city and township officials and representatives of local chambers of commerce from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at the land department building in Backus.
The agenda includes elections, county and township road issues, updated land use zoning maps, using the county's Web system as a resource, Cass County economic development opportunities and other local issues.
Cass County also will sponsor a training meeting for county fire departments, ambulance services and first response teams from 6 to 8:25 p.m. March 7 at the land department building in Backus. Topics will include grant programs and grant writing training, 2007 legislative initiatives, emergency medical service asset inventory, avian flu planning, State Patrol matters, medical examiner protocols and sheriff's office dispatch and mapping updates.
