PINE RIVER -- Francis (Frank) "Tip" Ellingsworth, 77, Pine River, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
He was born Jan. 16, 1925, in St. Paul to Francis and Ann (Kline) Ellingsworth. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post 540 in Minneapolis and was a member of the Backus Senior Center, a life member of VFW Post 3839 in Jenkins and American Legion Post 613 in Pine River. He served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946 and the Air Force from 1947 to 1963.
Survivors include his wife, Guida; three daughters, Barbara Ann Pelech, South Carolina, Vickie Sue Hrncir, Arizona, and Terri Lynn Dailey, Minneapolis; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Andor, Minneapolis, and Eileen Bickett, Hampton, Va.; and a brother, Richard Ellingsworth, Osakis.
Two brothers, Leo and Bill, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River with the Rev. Edward Foster officiating. Burial will be private at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Friends may call one hour before services Friday at the funeral home and following the service at a reception at American Legion Post 613 in Pine River.
