Lee Krautkremer of the Crosslake Chamber of Commerce was recently elected chairman of "Outreach 80," the seven-Chamber of Commerce promotional campaign. The objective of the Outreach 80 program is to raise $35,000 in a fund drive scheduled to begin Feb. 18.

William Graham has retired as executive officer of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association here, but was reelected as president of the firm at its annual meeting.

Alvin Bordwell, Rt. 2, Brainerd was the Grand Champion exhibitor with an entry of large brown eggs at yesterday's Crow Wing County Egg Show held at the R.E.A. Building here.

Speakers at the Lions meeting were George Sweet, Boy Scout Commissioner, and Clarence Pappenfus, Brainerd's leading Scoutmaster. They outlined plans for rehabilitation of the Boy Scout movement and asked cooperation of club members in the campaign.

The Study Club of the Brainerd Musical Club will meet this evening at the home of Mrs. W.C. Cobb and Mrs. J.A. Thabes will read a paper on "The Property Rights of Married Women."
100 years ago (1900)
C.D. Johnson, retiring Postmaster, was the recipient last evening of a handsome easy chair, tendered him by the Post Office employees during his term.
