Pine River -- Chelsey Dabill scored 22 points for the Pine River-Backus Tigers in their first victory of the season, 48-34, over the Verndale Pirates in non-conference girls' basketball Thursday.

Brianna Erickson added 11 points for the Tigers.

Stacey Schoon had 12 points for Verndale.

Pequot Lakes 60, Pillager 26

PILLAGER -- The Pequot Lakes Patriots, led by Flecia Foster's 12 points, defeated the Pillager Huskies 60-26 in a non-conference matchup Thursday night.

Chelsa Schwegel and Teresa Parker added 12 points apiece for the Patriots.

Pillager was led by Katie Rasinski's 14 points.

PIERZ -- Emily Stumpf scored 23 points and had five rebounds, five steals and three assists as the Pierz Pioneers girls' basketball team topped the Kimball Cubs 66-49 in a Central Minnesota matchup Thursday.

Becky Korf had a double-double, with 22 points and 10 rebounds, as the Pioneers improved to 7-2 in the conference, 13-4 overall.
