LITTLE FALLS -- The Great River Arts Association will host Atreyu's Quest at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Great River Arts Center in Little Falls.
Deriving its name from the 1984 classic "The Neverending Story," Atreyu's Quest is a duo featuring singer-songwriters Bryant Switzky and Amber Sparks. The two started playing together in 1995, and while in college continued working on musical collaborations during summer stints.
After college, they formed Atreyu's Quest -- displaying an improvisational performance style that's littered with social commentary and tragi-comical personal narratives.
After a yearlong tour as the guitarist in a Latin band, Switzky founded his own record label, Falkor Records, and began working on the idea of Atreyu's Quest. He built his own studio, which he used to record "Juxtaposition" (May 2001), the follow up to his solo debut "Transcending the Innocence" (1997). After the "Juxtaposition" release, Sparks joined the band full time (she was previously featured on several of the CD's tracks).
Admission for the performance is $8 for adults, $6 for students/seniors and $3 for children under 12. For more information call (320) 632-0960.
