AITKIN -- The vocal and bell choirs of Aitkin High School will present their annual Classics Concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Aitkin High School auditorium.
Directed by Kelly Blake and Bryan Johnson, this performance will include a guest conductor, Tim McConnell, from Jackson County High School in Jackson.
The Madrigal Singers, a select group of 12 students, will perform "Come To Me, O My Love," "All Ye Who Music Love," "Weep O Mine Eyes" and "Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day."
The Copper Bell Choir will perform two selections: "Song Of Joy" and "Festiva."
The Freshman Choir will sing "In These Things We Live," "Sing We and Chant It," "Gentle Annie" and an arrangement of the spiritual "Come On Children, Let's Sing."
The Treble Choir will perform "Kyrie Eleison," "O Clap Your Hands," "When I Am Silent" and "Come To the Music." The last number will feature the piccolo played by Marie Plagge.
The Bronze Bell Choir will present two selections: "Nocturne in C Minor" and "In the Hall of the Mountain King."
The Concert Choir will stage "Fight the Good Fight"; "Arirang," a Korean foxing arranged by Kenneth Jennings for the St. Olaf Choir; "Santo, Santo"; "Amor de mi Alma"; "Minoi, Minoi"; "Witness," featuring a solo by Bethany Beck; and "O Sifuni Mungu," which will include four soloists -- Joe Buron, Katrina Schwartz, Jared Perry and Kristina Patnode. It also will feature the bass guitar played by Levi Baer and African drums played by Kahli Hoppe, Emily Johnson, Paul Johnson and Jacob Mehr.
