Dr. George Peterson, state commissioner of health, today ordered the fluoridation of the city's water supply within 48 hours. He said that if this does not occur, "I will have no choice but to seek appropriate remedies in court."

Clarence Berge has resigned from the board of directors of Citizens State Bank, effective today, it was announced by Ray Kirkhorn, bank president. Berge had been president of the bank from 1932 to 1964, when he became chairman of the board of directors.

Boots, a year-old black and white Angora cat belonging to the R.G. Weidman family at Ninth and Kingwood Streets, is at home and recovering nicely, thank you, after a snowdrift held him prisoner for 10 days while the temperature dropped to minus 45 degrees.

The county auditor's office was in receipt today of $819 from the state as reimbursement for bounties paid out during the past four months. The reimbursement covers bounties paid on 53 full grown wolves and four cubs.

One of the most dastardly crimes in northern Minnesota history took place at Bert Chase's hotel in Walker when bartender Howard Sexton was shot dead across the bar by Walter McDonald. McDonald then went coolly to his home and ate supper.
