Don Williamson, owner of the Colonel's Brainerd International Raceway, described this as ridiculous.
He was talking about two e-mails that the Dispatch received asking if CBIR was up for sale?
"Those two people are the most stupidest people in the United States," Williamson commented. "Does it look like we're closing?"
Williamson's latter statement referred to the 611-acre track spending thousands of dollars on improvements last year and continuing this year. It also shared honors with Bandimere Speedway in Denver as NHRA West Central Division's Most Improved Facility of the Year 1999 sponsored by Compulink Timing Systems.
"They think I put all that money in there just to close it down," said Williamson, who purchased 98 percent of the outstanding stock in the raceway in September 1994.
