AITKIN -- Theodore W. Carlson, 92, Aitkin, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at the Aicota Nursing Home in Aitkin.
He was born Nov. 9 1907 at Greenbush. He was the son of Charles and Petra (Hanson) Carlson. He moved with his family at an early age to the Fleming area near Aitkin, where his family farmed. he attended country school in Fleming township. He helped on the family farm and also worked in logging camps, drove for Lester Prairie Dairy in Duluth; worked on the railroad, for the McGregor Wild rice Co.; and Jacobson Concrete Co. He married Evelyn E. Forsberg in October of 1939. They ran a dairy in Fleming Township until they sold the farm in the mid-1970's and moved into Aitkin. He was a member of the Fleming United Methodist Church and the Aitkin United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughter Marilyn Twitchell, Howard; two sons, Jerry, Sun Lake, Ariz, and Dennis, Coon Rapids; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest, Aitkin, and Sheldon, Palisade.
His parents; his wife, four brothers; and one grandchild died earlier.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at 1 p.m., at the Aitkin United Methodist Church. Burial will at the Fleming Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin and also one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday.
