MAPLETON -- Claire M. Bach, 78, Mapleton, died at the Mapleton community Home on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000.
She was born Dec. 2, 1912, in Mankato to Lorenz and Theresa (Panter) Olinger. She graduated from good Counsel Academy. She married frank Bach on May 20, 1936, at Saints Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Mankato. They moved to California where Frank worked in the war effort as a welder. In 1947 they moved to the Mapleton area where they farmed until 1974 when they retired. After retirement they spent their summers at their lake home near Pillager and their winters in Florida. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake for many years before joining St. Teresa's in Mapleton.
Survivors include; daughters Mary Jo Gregor, Mapleton, Pat Fleming, Kalispell, Mont., Gloria Langworthy, Mapleton, Dorothy Langworthy, North Mankato; sons Butch and Tony, Mapleton; sisters, Madiline Giese, Wyoming, Minn., Dorothy Olinger, St. Paul; brother Robert Olinger, Mankato; 27 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren.
Her husband, one grandson, eight brothers and sisters all died earlier.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Mapleton. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Mapleton.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home in Mapleton. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour before services.
