Warriors suffer 3-point defeat to Moorhead

MOORHEAD -Ben Gervais' 16 points were not enough to lead the Brainerd Warriors boys' basketball team past Section 8-4A opponent Moorhead Saturday as the Warriors fell 53-50.

Trailing 51-50 with just under a minute left Brainerd ran the clock down to under 20 seconds before Jon Wiese came up just short of hitting the go-ahead basket.

After two Spud free throws were converted to extend the lead to 53-50 the Warriors Kyle Crocker missed a three-point shot as time expired.

Aaron Pavek added seven points and Kyle Schaible six for Brainerd.
