STAPLES -- William Arnold Handlos, 80, Staples, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Staples Care Center.
He was born Oct. 14, 1922, in St. Paul to William F. and Florence Handlos. He attended school in St. Paul. He enlisted in the Army and served during World War II working as an airplane mechanic. After his discharge, he farmed near Aitkin. He owned and operated a resort in the Aitkin area. He moved to St. Paul to care for his mother. He became a resident of the Staples Care Center three years ago.
Survivors include a son, Gary Handlos, Baxter; two grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Handlos, St. Paul.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
