LITTLE FALLS -- Frances G. Lindquist, 88, Little Falls, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
She was born July 16, 1914, in Minneapolis to Frank and Ermina (Merrill) Woodfill. The family moved to St. Louis Park in 1921. She graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1931. She then accepted a job with Northwestern National Life Insurance Co., and also attended the University of Minnesota, taking business courses. She married Bertil H. T. Lindquist on July 26, 1938, in Minneapolis. They lived in Cleveland for a year and then her husband was transferred to California. After three weeks, he was offered a job at a Swedish aeroplane company, so they moved to Linkoping, Sweden. Because of the war, they returned to the United States in 1940 and moved to Detroit. In 1957, they relocated to Little Falls. He died June 25, 1965. She worked at Carnegie City Library in Little Falls. After 17 years as a librarian, she retired in 1985. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in St. Cloud, the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston, the Alpha Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star No. 23 in Brainerd and the Variety Garden Club.
Survivors include four sons, Thor Lindquist, Little Falls, Karl Lindquist, East Grand Forks, Alan Lindquist, Maple Grove, and Rolf Lindquist, Grand Marais; a daughter, Linnea Dietrich, Apple Valley; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a brother, Ralph Woodfill; and a grandchild died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with reader Scott Bryce.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral chapel.
