Cheer team takes top honors

The Warrior Competitive Cheer team earned first place honors at the Minnesota Cheerleading Coaches Association State Competition this past weekend.

This year's squad includes six sophomores, Meghan Becker, Brittney Dahlberg, Briana Kruize, Sherry Trana-Mudgett, Braydee Turner and Samantha Zierki; and six freshmen, Aimeejoy Balko, MeKenna Close, Jenny Fitch, Natasha Johnson, Amanda Kaddatz, Krissanne Krupke.

Of the 12 participants, only four - Becker, Trana-Mudgett, Turner and Zierki - had previous cheer experience.

In the last competition of the season, the team will compete Saturday at St. Cloud State University in the SCSU Blizzard Competition.
