SARTELL - Michael Carlson sank two free throws with 2.8 seconds remaining to lift the Sartell Sabres past the Brainerd Warriors 45-44 in Central Lakes Conference boys' basketball Friday.
Carlson was 6-for-6 at the foul line in the second half as Sartell, which opened the season 1-7, won for the fourth time in its last eight games.
Brainerd recovered from a 29-21 halftime deficit and outscored the Sabres 23-16 in the second half.
Kyle Crocker scored 19
Kyle Crocker led the Warriors with 19 points. Brett Cloutier added 12.
No Sartell player scored in double figures.
