Kinkel backs bill for Pine River library
Sen. Tony Kinkel, DFL-Park Rapids, announced Friday he will author a $200,000 bonding bill this session to help the Pine River City Library finish its renovation and expansion project. The library is a member of the Kitchigami Regional Library System.
"My bonding bill would allow the Pine River City Library to continue to be an up-to-date information source and focal point for the greater Pine River area," Kinkel said.
The library is being renovated to keep up with changes in information storage and distribution and to provide more room for library services. Much of the renovation has already been funded by private sources. Kinkel's bill would allow the library to meet the needs of physically challenged residents, provide more room for computers and take full advantage of space donated by the Pine River State Bank. With proper funding the renovation project will be completed by June of 2002, Kinkel's statement said.
